How Not To Succeed

Written by detailedreams. Comments Off Posted in: Business Articles & Resources

I’d say the biggest mistakes that anyone can make is to live a mediocre and selfish life. Both will hold you back when it comes to your ability to learn more than what is expected and to expand your awareness of the world at large. And when you don’t do both, the odds of you making it will not only be close to nil, it’s a guarantee that you won’t see any form of it at all.

The simple fact that you’re even browsing detailedreams is a great thing because that means you have at least an inkling of what I’m telling everybody. But with the hard economic times of now, I bet that this form of thinking is a major problem at large due to a fear of the unknown. I know this isn’t a reality for those who live to teach themselves something about business and life every day, especially for the people who are responsible for other people because they also show others how to get it right.

I remember working alongside a small-business owner who griped on and on about their people not doing everything in their power to get the job done, but at the same time he never took any initiative to offer any sort of training to hone their skills. It was funny to see how he complained about his situation, yet he never did anything about it in the first place. He honestly believed that he knew it all. Thanks to his selfishness and pride, he closed the door on himself and his team. The only way forward for him was down into bankruptcy.

Being mediocre is hard on the spirit

There are some people who honestly believe that if they don’t know the answers, that’s all right by them. They never bother to learn because they don’t need to learn. Since they don’t have to worry about winning or losing, they never change their habits. It’s the life of a mediocre person.

The point of life is to always do something better, always. This is what evolution is all about, both physical and metaphysical. And it’s even more important for people who have no idea about it. If you want to become a success, you have to go beyond the illusion of fear. If you want to grow as a person, you have to show others how to keep on keepin’ on.

Make the time to teach yourself something about business that you had no idea about, and work those ideas into your life, your routine, your everything. By doing this simple exercise, you’ll soon realize how much of a happy person you can become, unlike your competitors who prefer to take as many shortcuts as they can.

Always read the latest business books, read the latest marketing articles, subscribe to detailedreams, go to bed listening to audio books, watch Undercover Boss, go to all the trade shows in your neck of the woods and scope out your competition. Become active in your community. Teach yourself 24/7. You get the idea.

In this thing called life, a minority hit blackjack right out of the gate, while other folks… not so much. But just like the game of blackjack, it’s not about who hit 21 in the first place, it’s the one who keeps on winning over time, all the time.

Personal development is teaching yourself how you can become the best you can absolutely be. It’s about evolving in real-time, it’s about self-actualization, it’s about confidence and courage. I know it’ll be perceived as something different to different people. For a tiny fraction, conquering the world will never be enough, but for most, just surviving another day is a milestone in itself.

No matter your position in life, your mission is to fight through misery and poverty, and always show others how they can do the same, even if you’re starting from last place. And when you include this mindset into your thinking, you’ll see that what you were born with doesn’t even matter anymore, it’s what you can create from the knowledge you have gained that matters most! This is the path humanity must walk on, and every mile marker you pass is a moment that’s truly beyond belief.
